VISITING PUY DU FOU
Created in 1989, Puy du Fou is a historical theme park which has garnered many international awards. You’ll find no rides here. Instead, the park is made up of live, immersive shows, period villages and gardens. Travel back in time to discover new facets of history.
If you want to make the most of the park in just one day, we recommend buying your tickets online or at our campsite’s reception. To check out the schedule for the day before you arrive, download the Puy du Fou app. The park’s opening hours and days, as well as its show times, will vary depending on the time of year.
A ticket for the day costs €37 per adult/teenager and €27 per child ages 3 to 13. The price of a combination ticket including the Cinéscénie evening show is €61 or €50. Children under 3 enter free. Of course, there are also discounts for large families and people with disabilities. To fully experience the park, we recommend the Emotion Pass, which entitles you to preferred seating at the Grand Parc’s seven main shows.
THE BEST SHOWS AT PUY DU FOU
Over the course of a day, you will have a chance to watch around five shows and still have time to walk around some of Puy du Fou’s main attractions. The must-see shows include Le Bal des Oiseaux Fantômes, in which you can admire more than 200 birds flying over a feudal décor, Le Premier Royaume about the lives of Clovis and the Franks, and Le Signe du Triomphe, where fighting and circus games take place in a Roman amphitheatre. For a truly grand show, don’t skip Les Vikings, in which men, animals and longboats engage in fierce battle.
You should also take the time to visit the villages, like Le Fort de l’An Mil (1000 AD), Le Bourg 1900 and La Cité Médiévale (Middle Ages). New in 2021 and well worth the time is Le Monde Imaginaire de La Fontaine, a show which will lead you into the wondrous and poetic world of La Fontaine’s fables in a 7,500 m² garden.
At the end of the day, watch one of Puy du Fou’s two night-time show, the Cinéscénie or Les Noces de Feu. The first retraces the history of the Vendée, and the second tells the story of a wedding on a lake.
